Synopsis

In the early 16th century, King François I of France decided to erect his palace on an inhospitable patch of swampy hunting grounds.

That daunting architectural feat provided the stage for key historical events and figures (Leonardo da Vinci, Louis XIV, the French Revolution, World War II...).

But the true treasure of Chambord is beyond its stone walls, in a wooded expanse the size of Paris with its varied and exceptional wildlife.
