Synopsis

With its distinctive climate, limestone cliffs, and varied vegetation mixing deciduous and coniferous trees, the Mercantour National Park in southern France is home to many endemic species.

In the Merveilles valley, and especially around Mount Bego, the outcrops and boulders still have traces of thousands of rock engravings, some dating back more than 5,000 years.
