Synopsis

"Nicotine isn’t addictive" say the tobacco industry’s seven most important leaders in front of the United States Congress on April 4, 1994.

Four years later, they have to pay a $200 billion fine and make their archives public. Buried inside millions of pages classified as confidential are proofs of a large-scale strategy of disinformation, manipulation of science, political lobbying and pressure on journalists.

Elaborate mechanisms were put in place to create a smokescreen of lies for 40 years.
