Synopsis
In 1960, the French government planned to carry out nuclear tests on the site of an old silver-lead mine in Corsica. The population protested up and refused to be used as a test area.
The uprising of local activists pushed France to consider another overseas territory: Mururoa in the Pacific.
This event which at first glance looks only regional, plunges us into the middle of the Cold War with the issue of the nuclear arms race between Western powers.
