Synopsis

During the war in Algeria, France implemented an incarceration project around two types of camps: tent camps where several villages were grouped and camps built around a single village surrounded by barbed wire and watchtowers.

Cholera, epidemics, malnutrition, and a very high infant mortality rate developed there. The army also tortured people.
