Synopsis
While the myth of the cowboy was born in American studios, the spaghetti western took shape in Italy.
Initially conceived as low-budget imitations, these films became a genre in their own right thanks to directors such as Sergio Leone, Corbucci and Solima, and the music of Ennio Morricone.
Their influence would later extend far beyond Europe,
shaping the work of many contemporary filmmakers.
